2005 Golden Apple Winner
The Golden Apple Foundation is a non-proft organization that works to support and develop teachers in Illinois. After being nominated the Golden Apple commitee, consisting of 90 chicago-area educators, pours through the nominees. With thousands of teachers in Illinois being considered for this award is a great honor.
Matt accepted his Golden Apple in 2005. Along with this award he received a tuition-free fall-term sabbatical at Northwestern University, a personal computer from Apple, $2,500, and induction into the Golden Apple Academy. Since winning Matt has stayed involved with the Golden apple program. Every year he takes Golden Apple Scholars under his wing and teaches them for weeks to prepare them for teaching and further education.
